Liam absolutely loves this little baby. When we picked Liam and Jude on our way home from the hospital, Liam kept sniffing my arms and I thought “I must smell like hospital to him.” Then, his little tail wagging a million miles and hour and he tried to jump into the back seat of the car. I realized, I didn’t smell like hospital, I smelled like BABY and Liam wanted to meet that baby.
Liam wants to be with Fox all the time. He goes into our room to check on Fox in the pack and play. We even find Liam standing on his hind legs to look into the bassinet so he can see Fox better. If I am nursing Fox, Liam is at my feet or sitting next to me. If Fox cries, Liam makes sure that we know. He’s almost as effective as a baby monitor. The other night, I couldn’t hear Fox crying because I was in the kitchen by the running dishwasher, but Liam took off running towards the room, which made me go check.
Liam is also very protective of Fox. He doesn’t like it if Jude is playing too rough near Fox and he makes it known. His eagle eyes monitor anyone that holds his baby. It’s really quite sweet how much Liam has bonded with the baby. We were joking that Fox as been assimilated into Liam’s “pack.” Here’s a picture of Joe’s cousin, Jason holding Fox, and you can see that the dachshund babysitter is never far away.
