We went to the playground with Jude after lunch. He is so brave! He would go down the slides by himself, although we would take him with us down the bigger slides. The weather was great; sun shining, brisk air. Jude was so happy the whole time and didn’t want to leave so we could finish our Christmas shopping. You can see a big smile on his face.

Joe is showing Jude how to “log roll.” Jude thinks it is funny.

He went down the big slide with his Daddy. This is the moment they came out of the tunnel. You can see the pure bliss on his face.

Jude is a boy who just loves to play. It’s so amazing to watch him figure out new ways to play with toys. He recently learned how to get his Thomas Trains to connect with the magnets so he can make a train. He is drawn to computers and other electronics and is surprisingly adept at using them or at least getting some level of entertainment from them. Although, he has broken the wireless adapter for our desktop, so we don’t have internet on that computer right now.

He also loves books. He has his favorite books and it is really sweet when you peek at him in his room and he is reading one of his books.

I recently turned a tv box into a little clubhouse for Jude. It was so funny how instantly he took to it. I cut a door and a few different window openings. It’s really narrow but just the perfect size for Jude. He gets so excited when he is in the house and he loves to shut the door and take a little snack inside with him.

Here are Jude’s 16 month pictures that I forgot to post in November.

He already likes video games.

Give me a turn, Daddy!

What? You were watching that show? Sorry, I changed it!

Here are some of Jude’s 17 month pictures from a few weeks ago.

He refused to stay still to take one picture.

Enough, Mom!!

It's out of focus, but I thought it looked sorta cool.

Happy 17 Month Birthday, my baby boy!

It was cold Saturday morning but we had so much fun chasing birds and going down the slides at Central Market’s playscape. Plus it was so early, there were hardly any kids there, so we had our run of the place.

It’s been a busy week. Well, a busy few weeks. Seems like everything is falling apart here, including our internet, hence the lack of posts lately. So, on Wednesday night Joe had class, and I didn’t feel like cooking after the crappy day I had, Jude and I went to Southpark Meadows to eat at Jason’s Deli. The lady who takes care of Jude had told me earlier in the day that he went down the slide for the first time on her playscape that day and loved it. I thought he would enjoy going to the park to play with the little bit of sunlight we had left. We had a fun time going down the slides together and playing on the playscape.

After it was too dark to play, we went to eat dinner. Jude seems like such a grown boy when I watch him drink juice from a juice box. Surprisingly, Jude was very hesistant to eat soft serve ice cream from my cone. You would have thought I was torturing him the way he screamed every time I brought the cone to his face.  But, he was more than happy to eat the ice cream from a spoon. Go figure! It was a great Mommy & Son date night.

Jude had no interest in carving the pumpkin. Liam, however, was mildly interested.

Halloween sure was fun this year!

This was Jude’s first trip to the pumpkin patch at Sweetberry Farms. We drove out there with our friends Aron and Sarah and met up with Joe’s aunts and his little cousins. Jude was hesitant at first and only wanted us to hold him. But, he soon warmed up and did his best to try to pick up pumpkins that were almost as heavy as he is. We enjoyed some tasty pumpkin ice cream (surprisingly good) and strawberry popsicles. Joshua and Jason wanted to do the corn maze, but since Jude is just a little guy, he was content to pick out a pumpkin and look around. It was a great trip and now we just need to carve our gourd.

Jude is officially 15 months old. It’s so amazing to me how quickly he is learning. He has a set of nesting cups that he plays with in the bathtub, and he can stack them on top of each other or nest them inside one another.  He can do star, circle, and square on his shape sorter. He is understanding mimicry much better; the other day I showed him how to blow kisses and he was able to copy my behavior rather quickly.  He is even able to recall behaviors that we haven’t practiced in a long time. A few days ago, we told him to give us a high five (which we haven’t done in about a month) and he knew what we were asking for.

Jude loves when I spin him in circles (although I did it too many times today and it made my stomach hurt). He has a new electric train that he can ride on and after a few tries, he feels confident about making it go when he wants to. We also like to make Liam ride the train…just for kicks.  He’s very quick to take his diaper off or crawl onto things…those two things happen in the blink of an eye around here. He’s taken a few headers off the furniture, so he’s had a goose egg on his forehead for the past week.

Here are some pictures of my number one boy showing off his many moods…while shirtless. What a little hunk!
