Halloween

Jude had no interest in carving the pumpkin. Liam, however, was mildly interested.

Halloween sure was fun this year!

This was Jude’s first trip to the pumpkin patch at Sweetberry Farms. We drove out there with our friends Aron and Sarah and met up with Joe’s aunts and his little cousins. Jude was hesitant at first and only wanted us to hold him. But, he soon warmed up and did his best to try to pick up pumpkins that were almost as heavy as he is. We enjoyed some tasty pumpkin ice cream (surprisingly good) and strawberry popsicles. Joshua and Jason wanted to do the corn maze, but since Jude is just a little guy, he was content to pick out a pumpkin and look around. It was a great trip and now we just need to carve our gourd.

So, Jude was Mr. Tumnus from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe for Halloween. We saw these adorable fuzzy pants at the Carter’s store and the idea just came to me. We gave him little horns and a goatee (which are hard to draw on a wiggly baby) but we didn’t have any ears. My AmeriCorps member made Jude a red scarf for his costume to make the look complete. God knows my hands are never free to knit anything!

I know that a satyr/faun doesn’t have bear paws, so don’t get technical on me. Just enjoy the overall effect. I just think he is so cute.

For reference, here’s my honey, James McAvoy as Mr. Tumnus.

This past weekend, we went with our friends Aron and Sarah to the pumpkin patch at Sweetberry Farm in Marble Falls. In addition to the the pumpkin patch, there was a corn field maze in the shape of Texas, pony rides, face painting, and not to mention, delicious strawberry popsicles. The weather was great and there were plenty of opportunities for pictures.

After much deliberation, we picked out the perfect pumpkin and tonight I have made the most awesome jack-o-lantern using a template from this website. An hour later, I now have the Halloween equivalent of my favorite Hallo-wiener.
