Saturday, we had two events for Jude. Saturday morning, I took Jude to a playdate at a park. We met up with my friend from UT & grad school, Missy, her husband and baby, Kellen, as well as, her business partner and his little girl. Missy and I had lost touch after I finished my masters, but she found Joe on Facebook, and this was the first time we had seen one another since Joe and I got married.

It was nice to catch up with her. Her little boy is only two months older than Jude. I am not sure if Jude was tired or if it was just the newness of it all, but he just stood there the whole time. He didn’t walk around and he didn’t play. He seemed content to sit in my lap and eat his snack. He did enjoy riding on the rocking animals, but did not enjoy going down the slide. It was such a change, because in the car he talked and sang the whole way there. He did however attempt multiple times over to eat the playground mulch and managed to get a few handfuls in his mouth. I guess playdates are really for adults, huh?

Later that evening, we went to a baby shower. It was more of a pool party, than a traditional baby shower with games and what not. We got to catch up with some of my work friends, who all thought Jude was just so handsome. of course, I agree! Jude was a little shy at first, but by the end he was playing with water bottles and crawling around and seemed content. The whole way hom in the car, he talked about the party non-stop. I’ve never heard that boy babble for 30 minutes straight. It was a beautiful house and a nice evening and the only downside were the mosquito bites.
