Visitors

So, Joe and I have been totally wiped out this week. We’ve had a few rough nights/early mornings with Jude(including a full on diaper blow out on our bed while I was holding him one morning), so we’ve been in survival mode. But, here’s an update on how he is doing. He now weighs 8 lbs 8 ounces and had grown an inch, which is really good. I was worried because he nurses so fast that he wasn’t getting all nutrition he needed, but both the lacation consultant and the peditrician said things are good. The pediatrician actually said it’s probably a blessing in disguise that he nurses so quickly. So, the boy is doing well.

 

We’ve also had some visitors over the past week. My friends Erica and Jerry and their little boy Jackson came by. Jackson will be two in November and it’s safe to say he was pretty much uninterested in the baby. Poor little guy, Liam was really harrassing Jackson when he was here, so Liam had to get to boot to the back patio.

Then my friends Jessica, Harold and their little girl Cameron came to visit the next day. Cameron was a little more interested in Jude than Jackson was, but she what she really wanted was to bounce on the couch. It was fun to both sets of friends over because I remember when their children were infants and look forward to seeing how Jude “fills out.”

Also, my sister and her husband and daughter came to stay with us for a few days to help with the baby. It was really nice to see her since she lives in Mississippi and I only get to see her once a year when she comes to Texas. I was so thankful to have her help. They cooked dinner, cleaned the house, mowed the lawn, washed dishes, and helped with Jude. I was sad to see her go, but it’s time for Joe and I to make our own routines with Jude and learn how to take care of his needs.
